Frequently asked questions
Where are your pieces made?
We're a hands-on kind of crew! While we design and manufacture the core of each piece here in our workshop, we do partner with other skilled artisans for certain specialized steps. This way, we can ensure top quality throughout the entire creation process.
We strongly believe in supporting Indian manufacturing, and that's reflected in everything we do.
What materials do you work with?
We use high-quality brass or silver as the base for our jewellery, then plate it with a luxurious layer of 22k gold. But we don't skimp here! We use a special micron plating process that's thicker and more durable than regular plating. This means your gorgeous piece will stay sparkling for years to come, and maybe even become a treasured family heirloom.
We also love incorporating beautiful gemstones! You'll find dazzling moissanite polki and stunning semi-precious stones in many of our designs. For all the nitty-gritty details about the materials used in each piece, just check out the product page.
How are your pieces designed?
First things first, we hit the books! We spend ages browsing libraries and museums, soaking up all the cool stuff that inspires us. Then, we jump online to see what else is out there. Once we've filled our brains with inspiration, we get together to chat and share our findings. It's like a giant fashion brainstorming session!
After all the talking, we pick a theme for our collection – something that captures the feeling we're going for. Then, the sketching begins!
We don't stop sketching until each piece feels awesome – a mix of something fresh and groovy, you know?
How can I care for my pieces?
- Wearing- Think of your jewellery as the finishing touch to your outfit. Put it on last after you've spritzed on perfume and smoothed on lotion. Take it off first thing before you wash your hands or tackle your nighttime skincare routine. This keeps them away from harsh chemicals and unnecessary wear and tear.
- Storing- We include a special Ziploc bag with every order to keep moisture away from your jewellery and protect the plating. Pop your pieces in there when you're not wearing them!
- Cleaning- Every few months, give your jewellery a quick refresh with a gentle microfiber cloth (the kind for cleaning glasses works great!). Skip harsh polishes and chemicals – they can damage the plating.
- Covid times: Washing hands is essential these days, but it's not your jewellery's best friend. Take off your rings when you lather up, and limit exposure to hand sanitiser and soap on all your pieces.
We pour our hearts into every Tarqash piece, and it shows! Each creation undergoes a meticulous quality check before it heads out to you. But hey, sometimes accidents happen.
If your new treasure arrives with a minor dent within 7 days of delivery, just reach out to us (an unboxing video is required). We'll be happy to send you a replacement.
Even down the line, if your piece breaks due to a possible manufacturing defect, don't hesitate to contact us! Shoot an email to tarqashjewels@gmail.com with your order number and a picture of the damage. While we can't cover wear and tear, we'll see what we can do to help.
What if, down the line, my Tarqash piece needs a little refresh?
